On this episode, the whole Rock Town crew heads out to the Lux Street Open.

Held in some pretty iconic old-school spots, the second installment of the Lux Street Open was another day of some pretty intense competition. But more importantly, it was a day to hang out with some good friends.

Chris Haffey is one of the best rollerbladers ever.

Before his Nitro Circus stop in San Jose, Chris gives us the full story behind his newly-revitalized “Bone Crusher” nickname, the good ol’ days of watching VHS skate videos until the tape broke, and talking about the thing he hates most about rollerblading.

He also answers questions the /r/rollerblading community on Reddit.

#30: Jay Cottrell

Jay Cottrell, or Young OG as he’d prefer to be known, is an oddball in the blade game and we love him because of it. Off-mic and on blades, Jay is always about ad-libbing and just spitting out hilarious bits about fat women and his dreams to own his own hog farm. On the podcast, he’s more reserved, talking about how Harriet the Spy became sexy, his ancestor that snogged Martha Washington, and getting stabbed in the face by Rutgers students. We also determined that there’s a good possibility Jay was the one I threw down a flight of stairs at a book release party.

Erik Bailey and Kyler Martz are Boise blading brothers, to say the least. In this episode, Erik, a Valo pro for nearly 12 years, and Kyler, whose art is ubiquitous in blading, talk about taking second place in a booty-shaking competition, famous blading spots in Seattle, suitcase tattoo parlors, the highs of painting indoors without ventilation, puking in host bathrooms, mormon bladers, and more.

This episode was recorded Dec. 27, 2014, in Erik's living room while the rest of his family was sleeping, so you're going to need to turn it up a bit.
